Roast chicken with couscous

Came across this roast chicken byDonal Skehan on tv. It was very easy to prepare, just marinate the chicken with cumin, coriander, garam masala, turmeric, paprika, ground ginger and yogurt. Best to marinate overnight then roast it about 180C for 40 mins.
I used the chicken gravy to prepare my coucous, added some peas, roasted onion, cheery tomatoes and garlic.

Spaghetti alfredo

The alfredo or cream type of pasta was never a request in this household, but i managed to changed that perception by following the recipe of a youtuber "The Domestic Geek".
She uses cauliflower which Ryan hates, and without any cream. I added some fried bacon too. Ha! the taste is amazing.

Roasted cauliflower soup

Jaden was down with HFM and having a bad sore throat. Thought of making something soupy for his breakfast. Its absolutely yummy and fast to make. Saute onions, celery and carrots with some black pepper, dried parsley and bay leaf. Meanwhile roast the cauliflower florets with some oil & salt. Once done add it to the vegetables, add chicken stock and cream. Voila!

Japanese curry rice

We had japanese curry during our visit to Hokkaido last year and the boys loved it. I wanted to try the packed sauces for a long time but worried about the taste. Took the challenge and tried it... the taste was quite nice.
This is the second time cooking japanese curry. Added some vegetables and fried some chicken fillet and eggs.

Happy New Year 2016 "Ho Yeah"

Its that time of the year again. This year decided not to cook, just pigged out at ma's place... hehehe. We had sweet & sour fish, poached chicken, dragon ball, abacus, two kinds of soup (lotus root + pig stomach), stew fish maw with mushroom, bak kean, stuffed lotus root, stir fry vegetable, hu pau, and stew pig's trotter with oyster, fat choy & mushroom.

We also celebrated my birthday on the 3rd day of CNY. Had a sumptuous dinner at Pak Loh Chiew Chow... but the place was too dark to take pics. Received fresh tulips bouquet from nyeng.
