Teriyaki chicken sandwich

Have wanted to make a good loaf of bread for sandwiches. I personally find the bread in the market too thinly sliced for my liking to make sandwiches. Made it today, woo hoo....!

Sandwich bread adapted from blogger "Savor Easy"

1/2  cup warm milk

1/2 cup water

3 cups All purpose flour

1/4 cup sugar

1/2 tsp salt

2 tsp instant yeast

60g butter

Bake at 180C for 40mins.

Teriyaki chicken recipe is very easy, just marinate chicken thigh with sake, mirin, soy sauce and a bit of sugar.

Sandwiches ready!

Butter cake

My mum loves the simple butter cake. I have been wanting to bake it but procrastinated. Found one random recipe online and tried it. Simple yet flavourful, really good as afternoon tea snack. Recipe as follows:

200g all-purpose flour

250g butter

200g sugar ( I reduced to 170g, personal preference)

4 eggs

1 tsp vanilla essence

2 tsp baking powder

1/2 tsp salt

4 tbsp milk

Bake at 180C for 45-50mins.

Cream sugar and butter until light colour, then add vanilla essence. Add egg one at a time to the butter and sugar mixture. Add flour 2-3 times to the batter alternate it with milk.

I added some cacao powder as the boys like chocolate flavoured stuff. Can also add orange rind + juice for a fruity taste. (next cake!)
