Couscous for breakfast

Today's breakfast was couscous with sausage, bacon, mushroom, capsicum, peas & basil pesto. Jaden was ok with it but i had to improvise the dish a bit for Ryan. I added some tomato pesto for him as per his request. Xinyi tried & love it.

Could not resist to snap a picture of mum's pretty flower. Unique flower with few leaves.

My first posting on food that i cooked

My sister has been encouraging me to post the food that i cooked for a long long time.... but each time i hesitated ... but alas.. i got my guts to post these 2 dishes that i cooked this morning for the boys.
Steamed japanese rice with japanese oyster soy sauce

Roasted tomatoes and vegetable soup
The boys had the rice with fried eggs "mata kerbau" style. Jaden likes his breakfast, i was delighted as he was one of the food critics at home. Ryan, a more supportive food critic likes the soup dipped with bread.

Handmade pinball game

The boys were so excited when Keat made them this pinball game. Although a bit flimsy or should I say boys are normally rough when they play, Jaden broke the side of the pinball styrofoam used to support the base of the board.

Waterplay at Setiawalk

The newly opened Setiawalk is not only nearby but has a very pleasant environment. They have water feature around the shops and allow kids to play in the selected area every Sunday. Last sunday we finally brought them together although Ryan & Jaden have been there twice. The kids were so eager and enjoyed themselves.

MY LITTLE PIRATE

Today is the last day for the 1st term of school. Jaden told me he wanted to dress up like a pirate for his class party. Did not manage to find him a pirate hat.. so his papa made this for him instead..

The making of the attic

Stage 1
Laying of the metal steel foundation. Work stops for approx 3 weeks. Round 1 of the cleaning process was the worst as the welders did their work in the house (attic area). The scary part was the bits from the metal everywhere on the floor and walls..

Stage 2
The carpenter started to fill in the wood for the foundation and stairs. it took them approx 3 days. Cleaning process also took a toll on me cos there were saw dust flying everywhere. Jaden even caught eyes infection due to the dusts.

Stage 3
The plaster ceiling guys came. Their work was the fastest. I think it took them abt 3 hours to complete their job but they were delayed from their scheduled appointment as their worker fell sick.

The hanging cabinets in the attic, one of the door not fixed.

Completed hanging cabinets.

View of the wardrobe and cabinets downstairs.

Metal guys came again. To my horror, they cut metal indoors again to fit the rails properly.

Still waiting for the carpenter to fix the wood at the hand rail. Final touch on the brand new attic will be fixing of the lights and fans. Suey one...Electrician did not turn up and don't even hv guts to call.

A very tiring process and a piece of advise if u cud not cope with the cleaning process after the end of each stage, get all reno done b4 u move in.
